Graduation!!!

On Thursday, Sept. 2, Jason graduated from Chaplain Basic Officer Leader Course!

So many people have asked what exactly he had to do, so let me give a little break down.

The first 4 weeks were CIMT, which is like Basic Training. The Chaplains go through all the military training like challenge courses, land navigation, gas chamber, and learning the military lingo. The next 9 weeks are on Chaplain training where they learn about counseling, suicide prevention, how to interact with the commanders and the role of the chaplain in both garrison (here at Post) and downrange (deployed.)

Jason is assigned a unit and he will deploy when they do. He is non-combatant - which means he doesn't carry a weapon, but he has a Chaplain Assistant which is his eyes and ears with the enlisted soldiers - and carries a weapon to protect my man!

So, with that brief synopsis - he finished! I am so proud of my Chaplain!

We were so excited to see family come for Jason's graduation! Jason's parents came for the week and got to spend some great time with the kids! His oldest brother and his boys came also. We enjoyed seeing familiar faces! The kids got in some great cousin time too!
